When friend and colleague Rafael Flores was in desperate need of an editor to cut a camp recap video, I offered my services. In hindsight there were two reasons I took the job.
I like to edit, especially footage that is not my own. I enjoy putting fresh eyes on a new project and being resourceful enough to make something out of anything. It had to be done very fast and I tend to do well in a “pressure-cooker” kind of environment.
A minimal amount of research told me that the Sons and Brothers camp represented community bonding and grieving, environmental justice and culture bearing. I longed to be involved in a community like this. I was in.
