The YMCA of San Francisco was one of my first clients out of film school. Just as everything was transitioning to HD. To think, now we shoot in 12k. Mind blowing.
This (above) was a fun little spot about their fitness programs. Zumba, yoga, swimming, basketball... it was a perfect opportunity to use a DIY doorway dolly I had built. My friend and colleague Trevor Parham pushed the dolly, and I manned the camera -- I believe it was a Canon 5d, which, at the time, was revolutionary.
We shot several videos for "the Y"; among them, this short documentary about their inspiring Youth and Government program:
"History is determined by those in the room doing the remembering."
